Homes for Good Housing Agency is seeking looking for Resident Services Assistants to join our team!

OUR SUPPORTIVE HOUSING DIVISION TEAM

We are continuing to expand our services and programs in our Permanent Supportive Housing communities and are looking for multiple Resident Services Assistants to support the services we provide to Lane County's low-income community members.

Our Supportive Housing Division provides housing and supportive services directly to the people who need it most. Our cross-functional team is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service while supporting our residents in achieving stability and success. The Supportive Housing Division consists of the Property Management, Resident Services and Maintenance departments. Our combined programs help over 900 households increase stability, access to opportunity, and success in housing.

WHAT YOU WILL DO FOR OUR TEAM

The Resident Services Assistant supports Homes for Good’s mission supports Homes for Good’s mission by working as a part of a cross-functional housing team by supporting, interacting and communicating with a resident population who may have special needs including mental or physical disability and/or substance abuse issues. This position answers and responds to resident concerns and questions and works closely with building and security staff to ensure resident and community safety. The Resident Services Assistant will also be required to work some evenings and weekends.

The Resident Services Assistant differs from the Resident Services Specialist, which has additional responsibilities to provide programmatic support to residents to increase self-sufficiency and/or support the ability to age in place.

This position will work onsite at The Commons on MLK. The Commons on MLK is a 51-unit Permanent Supportive Housing complex with an array of supportive services on Martin Luther King Blvd in Eugene, Oregon next to both Lane County Behavioral Health and Community Health Center primary health care. The Commons on MLK will provide permanent homes to formerly homeless individuals utilizing a “Housing First” model.

Housing First is an approach to quickly and successfully connect individuals experiencing homelessness to permanent housing without exclusive screening criteria and barriers to entry, such as sobriety, treatment or service participation requirements.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES:

Any combination of experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job is sufficient. Typical combinations of training and experience would be:

Experience: 1-2 years related experience working with low-income communities, seniors, and people with disabilities. Experience or certification in peer support/community health worker models helpful. Bilingual/cultural experience preferred, especially fluency in Spanish language skills.

Training: Equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade. Additional specialized training in social services, a related field and/or property management is desirable.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE: The Resident Services Specialist often drives Agency vehicles during the course of their duties. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Oregon vehicle driver’s license, and be insurable at standard rates is required for this position.

SUBSTITUTION: We value lived experience as much as we value education. Any combination of experience in administrative, clerical or customer service roles may be substituted for the education required provided that the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work has been demonstrated.

COMPENSATION: The pay range for this position is $3,367.20 - $4,512.38 per month, with a generous benefits package which includes paid health, dental and vision insurance for you and your family after one month of employment, along with life insurance and a 12% contribution of your monthly salary into a retirement account after 6 months of employment.
