Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) Creates Home Ownership Opportunities WHAT IS RAD?

The Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) is a program of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) that focuses on converting public housing into a Section 8 project-based voucher subsidy. RAD allows public housing agencies, like Homes for Good, to improve the housing available to residents through rehabilitation or new development.

RAD PHASE I & II From 2020 to 2025, Homes for Good sold a total of 112 single family homes & duplexes from our public housing portfolio, and built two new housing developments in Eugene and Springfield: Sarang and Hayden Bridge Landing
Program Highlights:
  • 85% Homes were purchased by first time home buyers
  • 9 Homes were sold to Homes for Good Program Participants
  • 6 Homes were sold to veterans with VA loans
  • 36% Homes were purchased with FHA loans
